Carlos Ponce is Board Certified in Respiratory Therapy by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy and is a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. He received his education at Miami Dade Medical Center and Florida International University Health Management. He has over 31 years managing pulmonary and sleep laboratories in hospitals as well as in the private healthcare sector in South Florida.

He is actively involved in the Miller School of Medicine in the University of Miami where he conducts clinical research trials under Professor Marilyn K. Glassberg, M.D. He received specialized training in Bronchial Provocation from Dr. Richard Rosenthal, Professor of Medicine at John Hopkins University.

He also received training in Pulmonary Stress Physiology from Dr. Winston Rajkumar, professor at Windsor Regional Hospital, in Ontario, Canada. He is an active member of the American Association for Respiratory Care since 1988.
